Recipe: Santa Fe Hot and Spicy Chili
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- 1 Large Yellow Onion, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons Garlic, chopped
- 1 pound Italian Sausage, casing removed
- 1 pound Lean Ground Beef
- 2 teaspoons Ground Cumin
- 2 teaspoons Ground Chili Powder
- 2 teaspoons Sea Salt
- 2 teaspoons Fresh Ground Black Pepper
- 2 cans Kidney Beans
- 2 (16 ounces each) cans Diced Tomatoes
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a skillet and sauté the onions until they are translucent.
- Add the garlic and sauté until it begins to turn golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the sausage and ground beef and cook until the meats are brown.
- Drain off any fat.
- Season with the cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the beans and tomatoes and simmer for 30 minutes.
