Recipe: Chili Con Carne

Summary: Simple ground beef chili featuring kidney beans and a nice tomato base.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Red Onion, chopped
  • 1 Garlic Clove, minced
  • Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Pound Lean Ground Beef
  • 2 Cans Cream of Tomato Soup, undiluted
  • 1 Can Kidney Beans, (16 ounces), un-drained
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Sea Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large iron or a heave skillet, sauté the onion and garlic.
  2. If necessary use a small amount of oil.
  3. Add the beef and sauté until well done, stirring occasionally.
  4. Drain.
  5. Add the beans, chili powder, salt and soup.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Cover and cook slowly for 1 hour, stirring to prevent sticking.
  8. In order to maintain a good simmer, use the lowest heat setting.
