Recipe: Chili Con Carne
Summary: Simple ground beef chili featuring kidney beans and a nice tomato base.
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Red Onion, chopped
- 1 Garlic Clove, minced
- Vegetable Oil
- 1 Pound Lean Ground Beef
- 2 Cans Cream of Tomato Soup, undiluted
- 1 Can Kidney Beans, (16 ounces), un-drained
- 1 to 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Sea Salt, to taste
Instructions
- In a large iron or a heave skillet, sauté the onion and garlic.
- If necessary use a small amount of oil.
- Add the beef and sauté until well done, stirring occasionally.
- Drain.
- Add the beans, chili powder, salt and soup.
- Mix well.
- Cover and cook slowly for 1 hour, stirring to prevent sticking.
- In order to maintain a good simmer, use the lowest heat setting.
