Recipe: Authentic Chili Con Carne

Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Round Steak, cut in 1/2″ squares
  • Flour, for dredging
  • Vegetable Oil for sautéing
  • 4 Cups Fresh Bottled Water
  • 1 Large Can V8
  • 1 Cube Beef Bouillon
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Oregano
  • 1 Packet Chili Seasoning
  • 1 Can Crushed Tomatoes in Puree, (15 ounces)
  • Cheddar Cheese, shredded, for garnish
  • Sour Cream, for garnish
  • Frito Chips

Instructions

  1. Dredge the steak in the flour then brown in the oil.
  2. Add the V8 and water and simmer for half an hour.
  3. Add the beef bouillon cube, garlic salt, sea salt, oregano, chili seasoning and tomato.
  4. Simmer for another half hour, stirring often.
  5. Serve over the Fritos.
  6. Top with cheese and sour cream.
